Same Industry different Title: My Dream Job

I have been given the job of dreams. I am the Promotions Director for WKYS Radio DC. With this new position I will be able to create promotional packages, set-up entertainment venues, market my station to potential clients, manage the WKYS street/sweet team, help in the new music playlist selection (hoping music being played can be more uplifting to black people), be in direct contact with record label executives and artists, recruit members of my station and record labels to help in the process of my non profit organization, reach out to others in my area by: creating new educational and entertainment venues, hold street concerts/radio events, ask that on-air talent be on the streets getting to know our listeners, encourage employees of Radio One and clients/celebs to volunteer and give finanical assistance to people in need (focusing on single parent families), be an important part of the process in changing the "bland" image that surronds WKYS and help build it up to the #1 station in the DMV. This new position will give me me the flexability to see my children during the day, increase my salary therfore decreasing my debt, will help me become financially stable and be able to provide for my children without having to worry about skipping a bill payment.

This is the position I've been waiting for since I was 15 years old. Remember Will Smith in the end of the "Pursuit of Happyness"? That's me! Tears in my eyes, running to pick up my kids because IT has finally happened! What I've worked for all these years has become real.

I have a dream, I'm sticking to it. I'm in a pursuit to my happyness. This is my story, the song of my life. It will happen because I believe G-d has already put it in my hands.

Live to dream and dream to live,
Truth
